What does ICNDE stand for?

ICNDE, known as "eye candy", stands for the Initiative for Collective Neuronal Dynamics and Epilepsy.

What does ICNDE do?

ICNDE is an educational and scientfic nonprofit that studies how large numbers of neurons cooperate to code for information in the brain and how this collective activity is altered in diseases such as epilepsy.

What are Brain Clouds?

Ants live in colonies. People gather in crowds. Water forms vortices. Each is an example of a collective excitation, where large numbers of individuals cooperate to form an organized structure that exhibits new properties not observed in the individuals that comprise it. Similarly, neurons interact to form patterned electrical activity in the brain, which we call Brain Clouds.

Why contribute to ICNDE?

Unlike most nonprofits, ICNDE has no payroll. 100% of public donations are allocated towards research, unless requested otherwise. Any remaining operating costs are paid for by grants, partnering academic institutions, or by the founder. Financial statments are posted to the web, allowing the public to inspect how contributions are spent. Finally, donations are tax deductable.
